Visual complexity & neural responses
Fractal–EEG
Using fractal animation to study neural responses to visual complexity.
Two published studies examine EEG complexity and shared neural responses during fractal animation viewing.

Approach
Research approach.
The complexity study examines the relationship between fractal animations and EEG signals. The later synchronisation study uses inter-subject correlation to investigate shared responses during animation viewing. They address different aspects of the viewing experience rather than treating complexity and synchronisation as the same measure.
This work grew from my background in animation. It also informs my current interest in how the visual properties of an immersive environment shape an experiment. The published EEG studies are distinct from the assessment and training questions in Neuroadaptive XR.
